Jonah Sonnenborn

Jonah Sonnenborn is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Real Estate at Access Industries, the privately held global investment firm founded by Sir Leonard Blavatnik (HBS Alum) that manages over $40 billion in assets across media, entertainment, technology, and real estate.

Jonah joined Access Industries in 2013 and is primarily responsible for the firm’s diversified portfolio of opportunistic real estate investments worldwide, including the Faena hotels in Miami and New York, the Aman residences in Miami, the Grand Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera, the Ocean Club in the Bahamas, the Ford Factory in Los Angeles, and the recently opened One High Line residences in West Chelsea.

Previously, Jonah was a Managing Director and member of the Investment Committee at Dune Real Estate Partners, a real estate private equity firm headquartered in New York. Prior to joining Dune, Jonah worked in the Investment Banking divisions of Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he was a member of the Dean’s List, and a JD from Columbia Law School, where he was selected to Law Review. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a dual degree in English and Government.

Jonah serves on the boards of several privately held companies, is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable, is Chairman of ULI’s UDMUC Gold, and is a member of the American Hospitality Investment Roundtable. He is also on the Executive Advisory Board of Columbia Business School’s Heilbrunn Center for Graham & Dodd Investing.
